Thrumming basslines and funky guitar licks encapsulate the latest release from Melbourne’s Creature Fear. Infectiously danceable, the rough garage roots of singer Jacqui Lumsden’s vocals shine through an upbeat melody.
As it smashes into a glimmering chorus “please please please let me die / I’m barely alive” the song navigates the stress and hopeless a lot of our generation feel. Yet, as the next choruses turn into “lets never die” and “better alive” its a nod to the better times, the hope and the adventurous spirits all on board the weird rollercoaster of adult life.
A very relatable mood for the current world situation and a sure-fire addition to those isolation playlists.
